Hi, I’m Johannes.

Director of UX / IXD

I have spent the last 10 years conceptualizing and executing digital products as an interdisciplinary product designer with a focus on UX and Interaction Design. During this period I have lead design teams from inception through to implementation across a variety of project types and industries.

In my current role as Director of UX/IXD at Code and Theory, I manage the department across our offices in New York San Francisco, and London. In tandem with managing the designers in my group, I’m still closely involved in all aspects of the design work through all project phases. Since Joining Code and Theory, I had the privilege to be part of a wide variety of client projects across e-commerce brands, tourism and hospitality industries, publishing, wearable tech companies, to hybrid vehicle launches.

Prior to Code and Theory I was a research assistant at PARC, a Xerox company, within the Intelligent Systems Lab, with a focus on HCI research and usability testing for a number of different research projects on long term behavior change applications.

I earned a degree in Media Engineering at the Georg-Simon-Ohm University in Nürnberg, Germany.

Otherwise I like to play on land and …

… sea

I’ve started playing in the ocean at the age of 14 but have only just begun over the last couple of years to shape my own crafts and fins.
